Reading: 2 Chronicles 6:14

O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth – you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.

Reflection:

We all know what it is like when someone gives us their word about something and then does not keep it.  There are so many people who live behind a brave face.  So many who disguise their broken heart because a promise has been broken.  We are all feeble and frail, and we battle to overcome the temptations that beset us.  We are lured away by things and people and we leave a path of destruction behind us.  So many marriages end up in the courts because one or both could not keep their promises that they made publically.    When  we have been betrayed, we see the world through those spectacles, and we think that all are the same, and then we transfer these human emotions to God.

God will always keep His promises.   There is no one like Him.  We are sometimes tempted to compare God to ourselves.  But, God is not a man that He should lie.  He keeps His promises and He is faithful to His word.   God makes us so many promises in the Bible, and He keep every one of them without exception.

He is looking for those who obey Him and want to do His will.  He searches earth to find those who are willing to do His will and obey Him in all things, and as we do what He tells us to do, He will make a way.  There is nothing that God cannot do, and He is willing to do it for us, if only we will obey Him, and be anxious to do His will in all that we do.

Are you willing to try to obey God today?

Breath-prayer:

Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness towards me. It is my desire to do what You would have me do in this new week. Help me to do what pleases You. Amen.
